BILL SULLIVAN is the Showalter Professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he studies infectious disease. He received his Ph.D. in Cell & Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and has published over 125 papers in scientific journals. Bill has also served as an editor and writer at PLOS SciComm for 10 years, chaired the Editorial Advisory Board for ASBMB Today, served on the board of The DaVinci Pursuit, and serves as a board member of the John Shaw Billings Medical History Society.

An award-winning researcher, teacher, and science communicator, Bill has been featured in a wide variety of outlets, including CNN, Fox & Friends, CBS News, ESPN, The Doctors, New York Post, Wall Street Journal, TEDx, The Scientist, and more. He has written popular science articles for National Geographic, WIRED, Discover, Scientific American, Washington Post, Psychology Today, The Conversation, and more.
